2012 prediction compared to others.?

So we are told that in 2012 we will pretty much all die and the world will cease to exist..but thats what they said for the year 2000, so why believe that 2012 is real if they have made false predictions before, what makes people belive 2012 doomsday is the truth compared to past false predictions?
 
2o12 is suppose to be bigger and greater than the whole rumor about 2ooo (world ending and what not). But the Aztecs has created a calender from the beginning times of B.C, and the calender set out all huge events that was suppose to take place throughout time. And so far all their predictions from the calender that was created has happened, such as Hurricane Katrina, 911, etc ( big natural disasters ). On 2o12, all the planets are suppose to a line and fall into a black hole.

So to answer your question I would think that people are taking 2o12 soo much more seriously than 2ooo is because of the Aztec Calender and the fact that the predictions that were made thousands of years of ago came true, so this upcomming event is more likely happen.
 
nobody can "predict the future"!!!! (except for slythierin fan lol) it is just not possible because are too many variables involved. i dont think the mayan calendar predicted 9/11 and thats just as bad. there is no reason yet as to y doomsday or how doomsday will come. i think that this is just a belief.

Or computers going weird ect
Scientist say that there will be a polar shift.
It just seems to make more sense?
I don't know what to believe im not saying this is correct, but it's what is going around.
