my husband is trying to think of a cartoon he used to watch in the 90's. it was about an alien boy that lived here on earth with his mother and his dad was a leader. the boy got his house blown up and chased by other aliens. they had glowing orbs to operate vehicles and stuff. and there were creatures that looked like dogs. the show was about aliens that looked human like. also he thinks (but not sure) that there was a red ship in the series that had writing on it. it was a short series.and it was not invader zim
