My truck has been throwing codes for a "right bank catalyst" problem, both cats look origional (truck has 202K miles on it) so it's no surprise they need to be replaced but I have some questions I need answered before I do anything. Ideally I'd like to just cut them off and be done with it but I'm hesitant to do so, I know that with the right muffler the truck could have a deeper, mellower sound (which is what I want) but I've heard of issues with the computer running the motor too lean or too rich after removing the cats due to out of normal scale readings from the O2 sensors because of the missing cats. I'm debating between a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta flow, 50 Series Big Block, or a 50 Series SUV - all dual in/dual out mufflers. Anyone removed the cats on a truck like this? If so, I'd like to hear if you've run into any problems or not. I know problems like that can be solved with power programmers or a reflash but I'd really rather not go that route. Any help greatly appreciated, oh, and in case anyone's wondering, the truck is registered in a state that allows straight pipes so there's no issue with emissions and such. Thanks!
