I was traveling into another city when i noticed a faint knocking noise while accelerating. I put the vehicle into neutral and raced the motor up, it was silent and had no knocking noises. When I put the jeep back into gear the noise came back ONLY when I accelerated. I took the Jeep by walmart and asked them if they could find out what the noise was, I came back and they said they lubricated the chasis and that they didnt find anything wrong with it. I left and noticed the knocking noise became more apparent so I decided to see if I could catch a mechanic shop open but they had all closed so I decided I would try Sears and on my way to sears I stopped at a light on a hill and when I went to take off the car made this loud knock/grinding noise as I went to take off and it scared me so I pulled it over onto the curb. The car still goes into gears but after I hit the gas to move it the loud grinding knock noise occurs and im affraid to drive it like that. Would anyone know what it might be so I can kind of get a estimation on what my pocket is going to drain out?
Thank ya kindly

This depends on if you could feel vibrations from the noises. If not, it could come from the engine because of bad quality fuel. This happened to our car a few times where we would hear knocking sounds from the car. It turned out that the gas was not the best quality. We just used better gas and problem solved.
This might not be your problem, but I hope it helped in some way. :-) Good luck!
