i have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee that I bought from some guy that really didn't know on how to take care of cars..
But I have a few problems...
A, i just ordered a new ring & pinion set [he fed up the teeth]
B, all of a sudden the trans is slipping in first gear and I have no idea why atm.
C, because of the teeth messed up on the ring and pinion, i've been driving it in 4 wheel drive part time with the driveshaft taken out. (it's in my trunk.) sorry for dragging this out and whatnot but idfk what the heck is going on...
It's been running competley fine with the driveshaft taken out but all of a sudden today, I went to make a SLOW turn and was fine but once I straightened the wheels to go straight, I heard a clicking noise and i stepped on the brakes to pull over and it was still making that clicking noise AND basically craped out in the middle of the road.. Does anybody have any idea what this could be?

about the jeep:
-1998
- trans slips in 1st gear (automatic)
-back frame cracked [fixing that also this week]
-jeep was used for "rock crawling/mountain hiking" that I later found out

oh and its not the trans because when i try to start it, it turns over but it just wont start...
