Hello im 16 and i want to start getting into shape, i am 5'6 107 lbs (underweight) yet my body isnt toned
at all and im pretty weak.

Id like to tone my arms and legs but MOST IMPORTANTLY i want to tone my butt and abs (more then i want to tone my legs and arms) does anyone have anytips to give me or exercises to help me do all these things? Im not sure whether to start slower since ive never really had a routine and does anyone have any idea what size weights i should buy etc, any ideas would help, thank you !

U could do squats with no weight just do a lot of them. Butt just do lunges with like a 5-10lb weight each hand. Legs do both the workouts I said good luck

I am here to tell you that you do not need to buy any weights. To "tone" weights aren't neccesary. Only if you want to put on serious muscle mass. What you need to do is find an online calculator to determine how many calories you would need to maintain your current weight, and up it by lets say 300. That is how many calories you should consume a day. You should be eating vegetables, fruits, chicken, fish, lean beef, brown rice, nuts, greek yogurt, etc. This low is fats/calories and high in proteins.

Now for the exercise part. To tone your butt, you should be doing bodyweight squats. Squats will also work your hamstrings (thigh muscles) and will help give you toned legs, but if you want toned lower legs you need to add calf raises. Leg exercises, you should be doing 1-2 sets as many as you can 5x a week. For abdominal muscles, you need to be doing situps, 6 sets a day, as many as you can, 5x a week, or you could do 3 sets of crunches and 3 sets of reverse crunches. Only do the crunches if the situps cause you discomfort in your joints. If you want to tone your arms, pullups would work your biceps and pushups would work your triceps, the muscle on the back of your arms. I would do 6 sets of situps and 2 sets of pullups a day 5x a week if that is your concern. The pullups will also tone your lats, or your armpit muscles, giving your body a v-shape. That just about covers it.

Another thing to note is once your get to the place you want to be at with your body, it would be good to stop increasing your repititions there. That way you won't get bigger etc but you will maintain your physique. The reason that I say to add calories is because you are already underweight and it would be bad to burn calories through exercise and not make up for them to maintain your weight..

You don't have to do the exercises in the sets and reps I say, that's just how I would do it. If you aren't strong enough to do at least 5 real good pushups, start with doing them from your knees. If you can't do pullups, checkout negatives pullups and chin ups first. I am going to link you some helpful websites in the sourcebox, if the links end up not working please google search them. Good luck.
