I once had a Thompson Center Seneca .36 caliper rifle that was designed for small game. It was a sweet little rifle.

This .32 is called a squirrel rifle.

Do they make a good black powder rifle that is good for squirrel hunting? If so where could I find such? What should I be expecting to pay? and if they only come as a kit that you have to build that is perfectly fine... in fact preferred. That way I can build it with my grandfather and put his name on one side of the stock and mine on the other without hurting the manufacturer's finish.
apple juice theres no need for all that now... I cant help it im a hunter... its in my blood and also I cant help I love my family and want something that will be very useful and special to me and my grandfather

if you were much of a hunter, you would already know where to get such a gun as you are asking about

You might try CVA or Dixie Gun Works, among others. I don't know who is still in business as I have not bought a new BP weapon in over 15 years.

I have a .32 caliber "squirrel" rifle that I bought over 20 years ago, (don't remember where,) with a 36" barrel. It uses a 30 gr, FFFG charge, (pistol powder,) .310 RB w/patch and has over 2,000 fps muzzle velocity, and has excellent accuracy; it came with a double "set" trigger. (I use it for rabbit, as there are NO squirrels where I live.)

Your main problem will be obtaining ammo as it is NOT a "common" hunting caliber. You may want to learn to cast round ball for it if you buy one; LEE makes RB molds in most calibers. I have been unable to find any other type of bullet for this caliber.
I do not know of any kits in smaller calibers.

A black powder RIFLE would vaporize a squirrel. Look for a black powder shotgun kit that you and the Paps can work on. Any thing smaller than a 12 gauge would be good.
