A good shoe for recreation soccer and general commuting.?

Lately I have been playing more and more soccer. I know that my current set of kicks are holding me back. When I play barefoot I have unbelievable control of the ball and tonnes of power. With my shoes on it feels as if the ball is forced to my toes, thus losing a lot of power. I would like a few suggestions of shoes that I can where around town but function well on short grass/hard surfaces. Any advice or ideas are more than welcome.
