A plea to fellow Christians?

I believe we must try harder than ever to spread the Word of God to the ignorant. Atheism is the bane of Creation, as are other beliefs that deny the Truth of Christ. We must stand up and be soldiers of Christ at all costs...even if it means getting our hands dirty or a little bloody. True, this may seem harsh but it is for the Greater Good and will serve God. What do you think?

One of the best ways to evangelize is to train the clergy to effectively pray for miracles in their churches, especially miracles of healing,to demonstrate the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives;in essence to fill our churches with relevant demonstrations of God's power.:all mighty:

I think your "greater good" is not good. People can think what they want, don't try and force, try and reason. That's why atheism is growing, stupid people, like you, and the fact science is more easily defended. (because its based off fact)

I think Christians should be educated about the false doctrine of the Trinity, and other pagan myths that have crept into the faith.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read in my entire life and if you believe this to be true than you are one of the many christians that give christianity a bad name. First of all God does not need you to fight his battles. Second of all Thou shalt not kill... ring a bell? and who are you to judge atheists or any other person of another belief?!?!? The Bible says judge and be judged accordingly! It also says He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. You don't know those people hearts or their deepest desires so you need to leave them in Gods hands and work out your own salvation! Before you start picking at them you need to take a good look in the mirror and take that beam out of your eye!!!

I prefer to promote the acceptance of others, which is more in keeping with the example set by Jesus in the gospels. Atheism is not the bane of anything; it is merely a philosophical position that differs from my own. Differing opinions are not a threat. What do I think? I think I want to distance myself as much as possible from the idea of causing strife and division in the name of Christ.

Proclaim the truth in love, and leave the outcomes to God.

If that gets you "dirty and bloody" then so be it. But you cannot and neither should you try to force people.

OK, let's try reality...Anyone who wanted to hear your good news, and many who didn't, have heard it by now. The brightest among us have rejected it as silliness, so let go, move on, work your way into "heaven" and leave normal people alone.

Many Christians when discussing this subject forget that modern science was invented by Christians & Jews. They're still the backbone of modern science. So when atheists throw up the "believe in science" straw-man, many Christians fall into the trap because they don't know their history. The best way for Christians to "spread the Word of God to the ignorant" is to study science (as well as the Bible).

Chris,
Good for those who study. I spend much of my time here and elsewhere defending the Gospel from other Christians. It seems the Gospel has become salvation for those who are good at willing themselves to morality, not for the helpless any more. They are barring sinners from the kingdom here daily. I'm Bi, so I know.

For all I know, you are like them, but I hope not.

Galatians 3
2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? 4 Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

They tend to see the word "flesh" and immediately think that they have to perform their own form of righteousness, which is the exact opposite of what Paul means here.
