...serious or am I just stupid? my boyfriend and I were flipping through TV. we're not big into watching anything regularly besides The Office and some Discovery shows. since I love ghost shows, I saw Medium was on and decided to give it a chance.

in the episode "Things to Do in Phoenix When You're Dead", Ariel has to take home one of those "living" dolls for Home Ec. whenever she picks it up, she starts acting like she's on an acid flashback (falling down, giggling hysterically, acting completely insane) yet says things like "I'm so hungry", "all I want to do is lay here and listen to music" (suggesting she was high from weed despite her completely ridiculous behavior). also as soon as she put the doll down (the very second) she would snap back to sobriety. I thought that the twist would be her "husband" for the project had slipped acid on the surface on the doll, which can be absorbed through the skin/sweat. but from what I gathered, he was just smoking weed when it was his turn with the doll. and she was getting a contact high from it. that was it.
my question is: am I assuming correctly?!? seriously??? I mean, I don't even like smoking that much and don't encourage it, but that was something straight out of Reefer Madness. I know the show isn't founded on reality (a woman talking to ghosts) or divine acting skills but anyone over the age of sixteen, namely the writers, would know better. that isn't cautioning youngsters away from drugs. that is filling their heads with nonsense. then when they finally try drugs, they will think that since adults have lied to them about weed, then other drugs like coke and pills really aren't that bad either. it infuriates me.
I know this is really in-depth but it has been really bothering my boyfriend and I since we watched the show almost five hours ago. please, someone correct me. tell me the truth because that CAN NOT be what really happened. it defies all logic and would confirm my theory that manatees write the Medium script.
