Part of Twain's artistry is to attack something while not appearing to be attacking it. In chapter 31, I need to know how he does this.. I know that in that chapter, he was going to run away but when he came back to the boat, Jim was gone and finds out that the dauphin sold him? I'm not sure if I'm clear about that..but how does he "attack something without attacking it"??

Please help!im utterly confused
