A question about internet modems...?

So i have a normal non-wireless modem and i want to get a wireless one for my ipod touch, i was wondering if i got a wireless one if my internet bills and the internet would stay as it is.
and do i keep my old modem and just plug the new one into it?
the ethernet light on the front of my modem isn't on and there is a spare slot in the back, so i'm guessing there is a spot for an ethernet thing.
 
There would be no change in the billing.

You can get wireless routers that connect to an existing modem (using ethernet usually) and you can get wireless routers that have built in modems and replace the existing one.
