Okay, so one time I was "house-sitting" someone's home with my friend and we were eating these Chips-Ahoy. She freaked out because I opened the packaging so I could get the cookies in the back of the tray. I asked why it mattered. She said that more air would get in. Um, but once you open the packaging isn't air going to be coming in anyway? It's not like a smaller opening is going to make a significant difference- once they're open- that's it! I mean air is basically tiny molecules and she's proposing that AIR is going to be stopped by a smaller, but still significant opening (the kind where you can slide out the tray from the packaging). I didn't see how opening it and sliding out the tray as opposed to ripping the packaging up down the middle really made much of a difference. I know it probably looks nicer when you don't rip the packaging up the middle, but it doesn't have anything to do with air exposure that's just stupid!
What do you guys think? I'm talking about a Chips-Ahoy bag that has the tray with like five cookies in a row. I hope you can visualize that, or know what I'm talking about.
