A Chinese woman runs across the street, over to
the lamp post where you're standing.
She says to you: "Wo bei qiang jie le!"
What did she tell you?

It means, roughly, "I've been mugged", but a police officer that doesn't speak much Chinese wouldn't know that. Also, there are a bunch of other ways someone could say the same thing, without using the exact words. That's why it's important for anyone living or visiting in the US learn a handful of American words and phrases, so they can get help from people or the police.
