A smart-phone isn't right for me, but PDA's are going obsolete; any help...

...on what to do to keep work easy? I like to keep my devices separate, so the idea of a smart-phone is out of question for me, and I use a PDA (Ipaq) but since they are going obsolete, finding accessories to keep it up and running is getting harder. Can anyone help me with what I can do to work on Microsoft Office on the go without the need of a smart-phone? Thanks.
 
Regretfully your options are limited - as the previous responder said, the PDA's days are very numbered at this point.

Your other options, aside from smartphone, are pretty much going to be to carry a laptop or perhaps one of sony's UMP devices...which I dont think they even make anymore, but basically it was a slider-face laptop....very pricey for what you're talking about.

Unfortunately, my friend, your best bet really does lie with giving in to the same trend that most of the rest of the world has and getting a smartphone of some kind. In terms of doing MS Office and whatnot, you're really going to want to look into a blackberry. I know it's not the answer you're looking for - and if you can find one of the sony ultra-mini-PCs, that might be a reasonable solution for you, but I can tell you: I wouldnt want to carry one in my pocket. They're small, but they aint THAT small.
 
unfortunately, it looks like the age of the PDA is falling- long live the SmartPhone. Business believe its all about convergence nowadays, which i personally don't like. I want to surf the Internet on my TX while also talking on my cell. Your best bet is to go with a ultra portable computer that doesn't cost much. They got a good 5 hours or so of batterylife, and since they run on either Windows or Linux, there's no shortage of applications. They start up instantly, and all are wireless. Check out Asus, although Dell has their line of Mini's, and nearly every manufacturer except for Apple has some sort of low cost ultra portable. Don't expect to pay more than 500

Also, if your problem is trying to talk on a phone while doing your tasks, then a good smartphone that can multitask well plus a bluetooth headset is all you need.
 
There are still PDAs available used. Look on ebay or Craigslist. You could even buy a used smart phone and just not activate the phone.
