...direction on a parallel track at? 15m/s . assuming each train to be 500 m long, find the time in which P overtakes Q. What will be the time of cross-over if the train Q is travelling in the opposite direction?
thanku! but this is not the right answer....but then i figured it out.....so thanks

In the same direction,
t= d/s
=500m / (25-15) m/s
= 500 m/10 m/s

= 50 seconds

In the opposite direction,
=500 / (25+15) (they are "converging")
=500 m / 40 m/s
= 12.5 seconds

same direction:-
500 / (25-15)
= 50 seconds

opposite direction:-
500 / (25+15)
= 12.5 seconds
