Awesome way to advertise the love and compassion that your saviour advocated there mr saved, not to mention the turning of the other cheek that he not only advocated but demonstrated repeatedly, and in the end, by surrendering his own life.
I am guessing that there are a whole lot of religous people on this forum right now that are positively cringing at your pronoucements. Seriously, in what way are you demonstrating the precepts of your faith right now?

Not the band Toto by the way, or the dog for that matter. I have absolutely no need to 'hold onto' anything, I'm solidly happy with my agnosticism, and pretty clearly dont need the level of 'certainty' that you do to get by in life.

Yep, to each their own. I'm glad you are happy with who you are. I don't believe I have attempted one time to try convert anyone away from their beliefs. Actually, look back at when I was specifically asked about my religious views on the topic at hand. Before that I was simply saying that in my opinion that it was wrong. Then.. after I was asked, it turned into a bash the Christian thread. That's ok though, i'm used to it and it really doesn't bother me at all anymore.

Persecution complexes appear to be common amongst certain "Christian" elements - once again a display of someone being opinionated instead of informed.
No one attacked Christianity - the questions asked were pertinent to a metaphysical dichotomy you find your self in when you take a polemic stance; couple this with a pseudo zealotry toward a belief system and you are bound to find issues

I think maybe you are missing the point. This isn't a bash the Christian thing, it's much more a stop acting like a zealot/ fanatic thing, which happens on MAP all the time, albeit usually in the context of people's beliefs about training. For what it is worth I am actually endlessly fascinated by any of the many, many models of reality that people have, and have tremendous respect for folks that can maintain religous practice in the face of the enormous pressures placed on them by the modern world. I also get that you are feeling wound up by some of what is being said. But like I said in my first response, is the way you are reacting something that illustrates your principles, or are you just getting annoyed like we all do.

1. You did not overtly try to convert anyone, however you did point out that since we are not Christians we were not saved, i.e., going to hell. a rather passive aggressive approach I might say. You want to point out the you are within the fellowship of the church and we aren't without having the strength of your beliefs to just come out and say it.

You know, I read this and was going to write you an apology for being overly confrontational. I don't take back anything I said, but I could of written it in a much politer way.

I think I'm right in saying you're an American, so I can appreciate I'm not an adult under your laws but over here I am. Ignoring the legal definition and being egotistical for a moment I'll also say that mentally I'm quite a way from " a little kid" and have been for a fair few years.
Not that it matters because by saying "little kid" you don't actually care about any of that and have just decided to talk down to me because of a number displayed in the corner of my post. Well done you. You want to complain about people treating you like crap once your faith gets brought up? Try not being just as close minded and judgemental towards others based on trivial crap like the years they've been alive. If you do want to keep throwing out what I say based on some blanket thing like age then feel free. But don't complain when you get labelled certain ways in return for being Christian. Stones and glass houses and all that.
And finally, stop with the "read more" horse poop cop out response. All that says to me is you either don't have an answer, or you're unwilling to engage in a discussion. The latter of which ironically is quite childish. Its a stupid response. If we take the debate back to the abortion issue and back to the discussion about whether a foetus can be classed as a life, I disagreed with you. Would you have been overly thrilled if instead of people responding to you and engaging with you they got a list of pro-choice works and scientific papers looking into when child development reaches a degree of sentience and just pasted them in a post and went "here, read more"
I'm going to continue telling you what I think because this is a discussion forum. I'm a member of it, I have opinions on things that are generally formed by some sort of evidence so I'm more than capable of sharing them. And, amazingly, I will actually happily be challenged on any of them and discuss them. With anyone by the way, so long as they're capable of explaining why they think something I will listen to someone's views on anything. Its an incredible thing. Almost like that's what "discussion board" means.
edit: Oh and "prayer meaning many things"? I asked you, specifically, what you would be praying for when you pray for me at least twice. As it means "many things" then the "read more" response is useless anyway, and since its by your own admission based on what you specifically pray for then you are uniquely qualified to answer my question about what you're going to be praying for when you pray for me.

As with the subject of abortion, religion is part of it, which the "state" becomes involved. Thus makinbg it harder to separate "church from state"

There is no reason whatsoever that religion should be part of it, other than the usual claim of being some sort of ultimate moral authority. That claim is outdated.
I suspect this is sadly true.
And if the individual keeps that view to themselves rather than acting on it, condemning people over it, attacking people about it, burning clinics down, assaulting people, calling traumatised patients evil for making use of a medical procedure or otherwise then that's absolutely fine.
The moment the individual tries to push their viewpoint onto another person over a matter like this, it's somewhat less fine.

Agree. But so are many subjects(outdated) that people cling onto. It is hard for some to create or refresh new rebuttal. Simply, referencing-rehashing the same ol is all but too "convenient"
