Lets say you have a 24V power supply that is sending out AC. Most household electronics run on DC. However, most outlets that you plug your laptop charger into are sending out 120V of AC. Your laptop charger has an AC/DC adapter that changes this AC to DC and lowers the voltage to roughly 20V. However, it is important to note the input on many of these AC/DC adaptors in your chargers is 100 to 240V.

Does this mean that if I plug my laptop charger into the 24V AC power supply, my laptop charger wont work because the AC/DC converter in the charger only works with an input of 100 to 240V. I was curious because obviously the 24V from the power supply is more than the 20V being outputted by the AC/DC converter.
