Adults gossiping about my boyfriend :( It hurting me.please help.?

These older people are always gossiping about my boyfriend..My bf is 23 and he is going to go to foreign country for job in 2-3 months..
So till then,he helps his mom to buy some stuff is she needs it from the shop and do some other complusory work for his dad and etc.
Even in this much work, people gossip and say ' he is not a good guy,he flirts ,etc "
It hurts me so much when i hear these rumors from people

Even my mom gossips about him..
My mom doesnt know that i have a boyfriend [ cuz im a muslim].. And so thats why i cant support my bf when she says bad things about him.
What should i do? this is creating hatred in my mom's heart for my boyfriend which will cause troubles in our future ..[about marriages] and stuff.

because a guy flirts doesnt mean he is doing it on purpose (sometimes we are just friendly and it seems like something else to others). as for what people say, well the way people view your bf will always be different, the guys that you see and think he is a prick some other girl may see the sweet good side of him, point here is people have different views of 1 person, i know this cuz alot of poeple see me as a jerk an ass a prick and my gf loves me and sees me way different, screw the world the only thing that should matter is how you see home how he really is in your eyes, RUMORS btw are just that RUMORS and we all learned we cant take everything we hear seriously, as for you mom and religion, deal with it when it comes and if he is worth it go against the whole world, sometimes family doesnt understand, and if HE is REALLY REALLY worth it defy them fight them try and show them what you see, my gf mom hates any guy and she doesnt know im her bf but we fight to be together and i do all the crazy things to see her cuz SHE is woth fighting the world for
