Afraid to talk to girls because of rumors?

I'm afraid that if the girl I want to talk to doesn't like me, they'll tell their friends and then spread the news that I'm creepy or something. The girls in my school are unforgiving to any flaws and mistakes, it's nerve-racking. I'm 16 and I've been feeling this way ever since a similar scenario happened to me in middle school, and since then I've never had a girlfriend. I've seen it happen to other guys too. It sucks.

I wanted to message this girl on facebook and just like introduce myself and stuff, because I don't have any classes with her. But I realized she's close friends with a TON of loud-mouth girls who would probably talk crap about me because I'm not 100% perfect.

i think you should be careful what you say with these girls, the wrong thing, well..it'd be the wrong thing.
im trying to think in my point of view, if a guy did that with me. it depends. if he were good looking, i'd love it. but there was this guy who opened a chat that i didnt know him, and asked for my number, but i didnt give it, yet he somehow got it which was kinda creepy, but not so much at first, until he constantly texted me. and asked me random questions, even when i never replied, i almost changed my number.
don't talk to them like you've already been friends forever, like that guy did to me, cause it'll come off as creepy. i think you should start with a funny ice breaker, something like:
you-- "hey"
her--"hi, what's up?"
you--"um, i was just wondering, do you know how much a polar bear weighs?"
her--"no..?"
you--"enough to break the ice, hi, im ____"
and then if she write-laughs u could ask if she saw that movie (which i dont remember the name of sorry, i saw it in a trailer)
anyway, i think it sounds like you're trying to go for the "popular" girls. you should try out the other, nicer girls. trust me, they exist in every school. i think it's time we get some credit to lol.
if u have any female friends, or have a sister, you should ask them to decode what she's saying. especially a sister, hopefully you're close with her, or maybe a friend's sister, cause trust me, we love giving advice, so we could tell you what she means by each word :)
 
Just do it. Live your life like it's the last day of your life like it's the zombie apocalypse, if it doesn't work out with her then just move on. You're only trying to be her friend right? I cant be that bad.:)
 
I wish people would just stop worrying what other people thought of them. By doing that you are denying yourself the pleasures of life.

Sure, you might fail, but if you don’t try you will never know, you never know she might just like to be your friend to, if not, at leas you tried.

You cant just not do things because you are afraid of the end result, by trying and giving it your best, you will fail and succeed with different things but it will only make your success so much sweeter, just because you are not afraid to try.
 
I feel you on that one because when i was your age,i didnt like talking to a girl in front of her friends because i didnt want to be critized or judged
 
4 years from now you will not even care, Probably never see them again once you go to college. They wont even remember your name. Just do it, Life's short, Tomorrow never knows.
 
If the girl talks about you behind your back she's a worthless bitch and has serious self esteem issues and you deserve better. Let people think what they want, if they're stupid enough to believe rumors they hear and spread them they don't matter. Also, you should forget the past, it's behind you now, just focus on the present and follow your heart. By the way, I wouldn't send her a message, you should wait until she's online & just IM her, it's less creepy. Good luck dude.
