no internet connectivity.? After every boot up, network icon at lower bottom corner does not apper and hence no internet connectivity. Also that time there will be no network adapters icaon in DEVICE MANAGERS. I have to restart 3-4 times to get that icon and then only I get internet connectivity. I tried to uninstall and reinstall LANCARD driver but did not work. Please help.
It's a desktop and hence wired connection. When I tried with another PC this prob does not appear. Can it be due virus? However I ahave installed Norton and keep updating it regularly.

You don't say whether this is a laptop or desktop PC...

If it's a laptop, the NIC jack may be broken at the motherboard. Easier to just buy a PC card NIC adaptor - and cheap.

If it's a desktop, if the NIC doesn't appear in Device Manager, the system can't see it. It may simply need reseating or it is dead. Usually, it just needs to be reseated.

Turn off the power, open the case and pull the network card out and push it back in. I usually do it two or three times. It may have gotten jostled out of place or just corroded contacts.

This has worked 90% of the times I've had this problem with company desktop PCs.

If it is a built-in (integrated) network card, then that means replacing the motherboard, in which case just buying an add-in network card is the best fix.

However, if your PC is still under warranty, call the manufacturer's tech-support and they will troubleshoot and fix it for free.

one step: You should try to re-install windows and format your computer. you should've specified if it was a wired or a wireless connection. other step: if it was a wired connection problem, it is probably a cord problem or the computer plug where it connects to. if it is a wireless problem, check your wireless card and upgrade it.
