Just hooked up a blue ray thru and HDMI cable thru my surround sound receiver. We have a HDMI going from the receiver to our plasma tv also. We have a remote for our Direct TV, 1 for the blue ray, 1 for the surround receiver and one for the TV. I don't know what has to be set on what to get the blue ray to play on my TV? Please help me!

Most remote can be program to operate other remote control. Check the owners manual of your tv on the proper guidance. If you have everything connected to the receiver with HDMI cables, when you turn on the blu ray disc player it will also trigger the receiver and tv to turn on. Your receiver should also select the proper setting for the sound mode coming from the blu ray disc player. Hope this will help you out.

I can't provide in-depth help with out the makes and models of all three, but basically, both the TV and the surround must be set to the HDMI input, and, if needed, the surround also needs to be set to the HDMI out. Hope this helps!
