AIM, google talk work, but firefox, internet explorer, and other browsers do not.

How can i fix this? Firefox and internet explorer work for about 10-15 minutes, then stop working entirely. They are simply unable to load webpages after that point. However, AIM and google talk continue to function perfectly normally, as if nothing happened. What is the problem and how can i fix it?
 
try clearing cookies and temporary internet files from the options in firefox or ie
