air flow meter on citroen xara picasso 2.0hdi?

How do you reset citroen air flow meters after putting new one on?
My air flow meter on citroen xara picasso 2.0hdi started playing up so bought a new one, put it on and it is running really rough.
Someone told me you need to reset the ecu somehow, any help would be appreciated.
 
Disconnecting the battery for a minute and then driving a few miles might reset it.
