I'm thinking of getting a Lowe's 12' aluminum boat. The specs say that it has a 602 lb max weight capacity. It says it can handle 3 people. Then it says it has a max people capacity of 400lbs. Why the 200lb difference? Do they assume that I'll be carrying 200lbs of gear? My friend and I weigh a combined 450lbs. My electric trolling motor and battery weigh another 75lbs. All my other gear weighs less than 25lbs. That still leaves me 50lbs under the max weight. That should be fine shouldn't it?
