Am I a music snob for liking primarily post-rock music?

Several people have called me a "music snob" for my taste in music. I have never been one for mainstream music. Right now my favorite artists are: Mogwai, The American Dollar, If These Trees Could Talk, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, God is an Astronaut, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Dead Texan... Stuff of that sort. Am I really a music snob for liking this genre of music, and not ever listening to mainstream?
Haha. No I don't look down on others. Yes I get bothered when someone tells me how much they like Justin Timberlake but I don't give them a hard time. People just ask me, "So what genre do you like" I reply in a normal tone "Post-rock." Then I get a weird look and the person just goes "...oh..." in an almost disgusted tone.

Good for you. I mean it. I had to ditch my friends because they didn't like the same music as me, so just tell the people that they are gonna have to get used to it. : )

it depends on if you look down on others for not having such sophisticated tastes that makes one a snob not the simple act of having such a thing.
