I just got a longhaired male rescued chihuahua who was found alone in a basement as a present for christmas last night. They say he is probably around 2 years old as well. I have a dog already at home who is a female papillon mix and im trying to introduce these dogs the right way. As of right now I have them seperated by a gate so they can sniff eachother when they please. My fiance and I have held them each and have let them smell eachother as dogs do and they have growled a couple of times. The dog I already have owned for 5 years has actually licked the new dogs genitals, which I dont know if this is good or bad? Am i doing this the right way, any tips?
