Am I missing out

;47656254']I can tell you this much...the only way you're going to be missing anything is if you're stumbling through life in a drunken haze.

I'm going into my junior year of college and have yet to drink, smoke, or do any drugs. Your best friends will usually respect that and not expect you to drink, but ocassionally at a party you'll get some pressure, and if you feel yourself rationalizing againast what you've believed and practiced your entire life, just leave the room for a second. You'll make it, and you'll be a better individual for it.

Be prepared to be DD on a weekly, sometimes nightly basis.

i've been drinking since i was 14, when I turned 21 my friends and i went out to a bar, had a few drinks, and went home. It was basically the same thing i do every weekend except it was at a public place rather then someones house.

Everyone I went to hs with are now starting to turn 21 and what im starting to notice that those who didnt drink or do drugs in hs are now doing so and some try it and decided its not for them and other try it and run with it.

For example one kid who was stright as an arrow started to drink once he got to college, now he's a coke head and works at shopright. A chick that I went to hs with had her first drink on her 21'st, now shes black out drunk driving every weeked.

Dont get me wrong, the element that makes what would be a recreational user a habbitual user is there regardless of when you drink at 14 or 41, but at least make the mistake when you have time to fix it. Its a bitch to drop out of college for just a fucking drink.

tl;dr: at the very least try it your self and make your own conclusion.

i would say yes. highschool and college is the time to get drunk and do drugs before your put out into the real world on your own. i smoke alot(5-10 times a week) and drink and my life is perfectly fine. im doing fine in school and have a job and all that stuff. doing drugs and drinking doesnt necesarily mean you'll get addicted. experiment while you still can, while you still have parents around to help you if you fuck up.

Meh you're not missing out on anything really. I know a lot of people that don't smoke or drink, and they still have a great time at parties.

Yeah IMO you are, it's a shitload of fun.

edit: For all the people talking about the kids who fucked up their lives who started to drink when they got to college, isn't that telling you something? Few kids who have experience with drinking/doing drugs go to college and THEN take a turn for the worst. I think that it's actually important to experiment while still in high school while your freedom is still limited, otherwise you just go all out.

Im a junior in high school, and i have never had a drink or smoked a joint. I just don't. I have plenty of friends who talk about that stuff all da time. I just like hearing their stories. I don't really want to come to school the next day and say "DUDE!!!!! I don'T EvEn REMEbER WHAat I DIDdd THiS WEEkEnd!!!!!!" that doesn't sound like something i would ever want to say. Thats just me. I'm totally fine without the stuff. Yeah im curious how it is. But i'm just worried about making an ass out of myself. But i can live without it. I know what weed smells like because i went to a pearl jam concert. and i know what beer tastes like. I don't have a say in wether ur missing out or not. I'm fine without it.

So wrong. I see your logic, but you are so off. UCF our local college has a huge dropout statistic due to partying and shit...

I see youre a central floridian too? i'll admit, that statement was a stretch, but you see my point: if you don't have any experience to it, and you're exposed to it the first time when you're completely on your own, it probably won't end well.

As long as your doing whatever your doing to enjoy yourself, and not to forget/not have to deal with life then your pretty much fine.

Lifes short. Live hard. Play harder.
