Unfortunately, many people don't realise the extent of the mess until it effects them first-hand. In my case a hospital was solely responsible for the death of my grandmother (she went in as a healthy woman, who was active and showed no signs of demensia - she died mere weeks later covered in bedsores suffering severe dehydration, extremely confused, unable to move and having contracted MRSA. She had been admitted due to a fall at home). It was a situation that still causes great family upset.
I'm sure many nursing staff are great and are completely rushed off their feet, yet more money and government focus needs to be devoted to the NHS as this situation is only going to get worse without sufficient staff.
