android 2.2(froyo) vs 2.1(eclair)?

ey guys i'm having samsung galaxy 3 with android 2.1.i'm happy wid it.....should i update it to 2.2 ??? is 2.2 better than 2.1? if yes than what are the changes ?? and what all backup should i take and how from my phone??

New version of android means more application. 2.2 is faster than 2.1.
