Android marketplace question?

Ok I have a droid x
I have no problem downloading tones& songs but when I go to send them to contacts it always says its to big how can I fix this so im able to send to my contacts or apps that will allow me to send
Any help greatly appreciated:)
 
Is the Android Marketplace good? Like Apple App Store? Is there a good selection of apps? Lots of free apps? LOL I'm getting my first Android phone tomorrow and I just want all you can tell me about the Market.
