android phones, lock text viewing?

Is there a way or app to prevent someone from viewing my texts? Like say a friend wants to see my phone but I dont' want that person going through my texts by accident or intentionally. Or a family member or whoever.
 
have a look on Android market, there is an app to do this, i dont know what its called but there is something out there.
