what is it called when people attribute human qualities to an animal, usually a pet.. In other words, the person thinks the pet thinks the same way a human would... This is not just giving them human names and treating them like kids.. nothing wrong with that I say..
) this is actually believing that the animal thinks the same way we do.. these folks will make statements like" I know she is doing it to spite me," or otherwise thinking that the pet is our intellectual equal and reasons the way we do... (of course they act from instinct and do not plan and reason as we do).. there really is a term for this... I knew it at one time... I hear it all the time at the shelter where I work. where people think the animal figures things out as we do. I did know the word I have just forgotten it... Thank you...
