When I say newbie, I mean NEWBIE! I have always liked taking pictures of people in different poses, of celebrations, and of pretty scenery, but now I'm looking into investing in a new camera as well as some software (i.e. photoshop). I'd like to eventually turn this hobby into a small business, but for now would like some advice on how to get started and what I need to embark on this.

I am planning on taking a class but not until next summer... so I'd like to get started now. If anyone knows of specific camera and software for taking and editing beautiful professional looking pics, that would be great!
