I had an ileostomy years ago and they removed my rectum. Now I find that its impossible to get it reversed. It is very depressing because it seems everyone has the J pouch now, and I wish I had that option. I know they are working on artificial anuses and similar things, and I am always seeking other options. My insurance will not pay for BCIR, and anyways that seems to have high complication rates. Anyone working in the field of colorectal surgery or have knowledge of breakthroughs for people like me? I desperately would like to get rid of this bag.
