Any severe sleep problems & how do you deal w/ them?

I stay awake maybe 36 hrs. at a time. Sleep 4, awake 19, sleep 14, awake 24, sleep 19, awake 6, etc. It's crazy. I have sleeping pill that works, but dislike grogginess on waking so I only take it aprx. every 3rd day when I'm desperate for sleep. No outside job so main reason for help is b/c it's severely affects already high BP (240's / 130's). If I lay down at "normal" bedtime each night, I toss for 5 or so hours. Been a problem since age 12. Slept in class after 5 min. of hearing assignment then up all night w/ homework. My closest biorhythm is sleep at 4:A & awake at 11:A, but I fight it b/c not real world practical. I have to set alarm & again disturb sleep pattern to be at court, etc.

Only need replies form other sufferers & known someone w/ problem and/or solutions. Thanks serious repliers.
