Any tips on quitting smoking cigarrettes?

I want to quit. I can't afford it and it is controlling my life.
Any one have any success stories for quitting smoking??

contact the nhs stop smoking helpline they may get you some patches or something to help u stop and for free too !

My story.
I use to smoke a pack or so a day.
Well one day after i finished a cigarrette I went in for my usual appointment. My doctor said, And i quote "Your well on your way to cancer. At this rate you will be dead by next year unless you quit immediantly."
I never touched a cigarrette again.
Quit cold turkey. Its gonna suck for a little while. But once you beat it. You'll be so much better off.
