Twilight is a pointless waste of time. The book sucked, common falling in love with a fictional character, what are you stupid. I can understand falling in love with the actor, but you idiots fell in love with a character in an overated, bad, book. Youare DUMB, common read a real book

Lena, for your age, you seem very rational and intelligent. No offense to your age group, but uh... they're mostly Twilight fans, let's put it that way. :P

Yeah, the reason the book is so popular is because so many girls NEED that escape. I read it and, like you, found it very predictable. It's a lot of self-serving fantasy stuff. There are way better books out there.

I wouldn't say it's complete garbage, just because in the later books in the series the plot gets a little interesting. But it isn't a classic, and it doesn't deserve all the praise it's getting. It's just a Mary-Sue, basically!

Thank the lord for this board. I read the book a few years ago, before it had gotten the huge hype, and was interested in it. When I finished, I thought it was just OKAY. That's the thing. I don't think it's the worst book written, but it's definitely not even near one of the best. Girls need to zone into reality and stop living in a crap fiction novel.

I agree I think Twilight is TOO overrated! I can't even get a day through school now without hearing Twilight. It's driving me nuts!Seriously its so pathetic. C'mon get over it. Edward is not real Bella is a freakin slut and to hell with them all. All of Stephenie Meiers books are dragging *blech* And they have the audacity to even compare it to Harry Potter???? Wtf. I suppose Stephenie Meier is all happy and rich now because of all the attention her books are getting (which by the way they seriously do not deserve). Well I have a message for her she can kiss my freakin arse. Someday this twilight craze will be over and she'l be more pathetic than she is now and poor *evil laugh* Can't wait! All her books are too shallow they lack the real essence of art and there is no point to the whole plot.

Okay... I can see why people wouldn't like the series, and some of you have pretty good reasons..but.. i have to admit.. as an adult female, i enjoyed the first two very much. It takes you back to when you were seventeen, and being in love for the first time.. only theres a twist, with Edward being a vampire and all. I really like the take on the vampire bit myself, because its not the same as every other movie/book about them. And sooo what if Bella is a bit of a damsel in distress?? Its a fiction book, its purely for entertainment..and for some people (like myself) very fun to read.. I will probablly buy the next two books in the series, and most likely go and see the movie.. and I dont feel im just jumping on the band wagon.. I like it because I do, not because someone told me it was a great book and I had to like it.. and I know the first person posted this ages ago. so they probablly wont read this, but you seem like a very gloomy person with a sour look on life. If the females from your class and even the 30 something year old teacher enjoyed the book.. let them?? What does it hurt you? And dont worry vampires arent real so Edward isnt competition.. LOL

Alright. You see that there? That is a prime example of someone who is not open to different opinions. You need to chill and realize that not everyone on the earth is a "zOmg!!111!!!11!! TwiLigHt luVVErrrr!!!!!12!@1!@12". Some people like it, some people don't. Live with it. And you're probably like what, 12 years old? (Judging by your email address, excuse me if I'm wrong.) Do you even know what good "litterature" is? And what do you mean "you shouldnt voice an absurd oppinion like this on the internet"? You're saying that all the forums you read should be gushing about how hot Edward is? About Jacob's imprinting on Bella's kid? I think it would get a bit boring after a while. I know this statement would've upset a lot of teenage Twilight fans, but this is my opinion. Apologies if it has offended you deeply, but I simply need to voice my opinion.

I have to agree with you twilight "haters" myself. Not that I actually hate the series, I just find it slightly sickening with all it's mushy, somewhat corny, and cliche lines and plot. And Bella, that girl just pisses me off. hahaha! Twilight itself was a promising start to a new series, but sorry, the rest of the series turned out to be crap and soooo boring. Especially the third one, boy did that one drag on and on and on and on. And this book is totally lacking in orginality, I've read about a couple books with a similar plot that came way before it. (One of it even has the same vampire-love, except its more for adults[anyone read the book about anita and jean-claude?]. Twilight is like the teen version of it.)
In short, Twilight is so overated!!!
