Guy on top, the series isn't that bad. I'm a guy and i liked them. Are they predictable, yes, Are they more made for 14 year old girls who have no real concept of love, yes , but the books themselves are okay. Honestly if you expected Dickens your an idiot, of course its not a literary masterpiece but how many popular books nowadays are. I think what you really hate about the books is all the hype, some people are going a little overboard, but that's no reason to take it out on a perfectly good book(especially considering the target audience)

Okay Twlight... not the BEST book in the world, but not the worst. The problem with it is that is so overrated its becoming ridiculous. The fan base makes it seem like they nothing better to do than worship this book. They have no other hobbies, or lives for that matter. (But what do you excpect for teenagers?)

I work with this guy, and he loves the series. When they gave a date for the movie debut, he began COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS. Can you get any more demented than that?

Hopefully, these people will realize, that Edward NOR Bella exsist, and they have no signifgance to life... at all. So please, stop pretending that this book is reality, and go get a REAL hobby, instead of worshipping made up characters.

Also, do we have to be so hateful... I mean critizing is fine, or even a heated discussion, BUT stop being so HATEFUL.

I know my prefectly well that my spelling and grammer suck. English is not my strong subject.~

Just Shut Up Already all of you

Ok we get it you hate Twilight! I'm not going to say that I'm absolutely obsessed with it but it's a pretty good book. If you don't like it that's great just keep it to yourself unless you can come up with a better series. I don't know about you but I couldn't do that so it looks like she worked really hard and a lot of people like the book so just LET IT GO!
Twilight Fanatics need to stop going crazy and calling him insane
Twilight Haters need to stop criticizing the book unless you've read it and if you did then stop thinking your going to go crazy just because your jealous of how much fame this book has got! and if you not jealous then your just mad

Anyways, Buffy kicks the ass. Not some 'Edward Cullen' dude, who SERIOUSLY does not "dazzle me." I mean, c'mon.. have you SEEN the guys hair? Most of the stuff in Twilight originated from Buffy, because Buffy is the original. Simple as.

Buffy is ABSOLUTELY NOT the original. There were so many wonderful vampire stories written before Buffy came on the scene.

Alright, so a lot of people were saying that I should read Midnight Sun (Twilight from Edward's POV) before I critiqued the utter lack of character development in Twilight. I just did and I am now less impressed than ever. Not only are Bella and Edward without depth - they are the same character. Stephenie Meyers cannot even come up with two separate voices for her main characters. The both have minor tempers, they both get all fuzzy when they look into each other's eyes, they both have a physical difficulty (clumsiness, vampire), they both think they are unworthy of the other's love, they both put others' needs ahead of their own. Seriously - how can anyone enjoy a book about two people who fall in love with themselves? And how does an author make it big when she can't create multiple characters?

the book is shallow and redundant. as simple as that. and for those who want to read a teen/pretty face book read the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield it's better. now back to reading the latest book in the Inda series.

thanks lena, i agree with hating twilight. Ok but i have a logical reason besides hating the story itself before anyone gets on me about hating it. my previous ex-girlfriend is still obsessed with the serious.and for about a month before she broke up with me all she did was read those damn books. she never payed any attention too my phone calls it was always, "i cant talk i reading Twilight." It tore me to shreads and ever since i have snarled every single time i hear the name of the book and hate seeing and earing it EVERYWHERE i go!!! its so reatarded that girls are now pretending to be vampires including my ex and every one of them sickens me. Yeah i'm a guy and i probably don't understand the beauty of being saved by a gorgeous vampire boy and falling in love but i gave my reason for hating this demon-spawn book so THERE!!!

You got cockblocked by a fictional character?!

Twilight sucks plain and simple. An over-rated sign of the times, that we live in. A time of ditzy bimbos who've lost touch with reality.

Finally some people with a decent opinion. I dont see why its so good. The main thing seems to be a repeat of words and predictability. I hope your happy Steph, Youve officially lowered the standards for books everywhere

seriously kid...chill

Twilight is terrible. Only teenage girls who dont know any better would fall in love with a vampire or werewolf...the books aren't even written that well. Meyer is definitely NOT the next JK Rowling...

Replying to bitme-twilight...

Okay, why NORMAL people don't like Twilight

1. Character depth: there is none, simple as that, poorly developed characters are BORING.

2.Vampires with weird powers: Glowing vamps, could this series BE any worse!?

3.Heroine or Damsel in Distress?: A leading character needing constant rescuing? how old is she? 4, sheesh! a duck with leprosy could live without assistance longer than her, for seventeen she sure needs a lot of help, so much for the independent woman. Not a strong leading character.

4. The questionable sanity of the author: Who would write such an unbelievably bad story and get it published, yet alone the state of mind to write this "Art". I could barely say that with a straight face. seriously.

5.Little Girls: It's like this story was tailored to the needs of horny little teenagers with a love for vampires nearing the fetishistic, really, their rabid defense of this fandom is comparable to that of Nintendo fantards, it's actually quite hillarable (hilariously horrible) I'm fourteen, and this really is an insult to my intelligence, seriously if I read the rest of the book, (I attempted to read it) my IQ would drop by 75%, rendering me mentally disabled for the rest of my life, it makes me want cut the Author's head off and shove it 50 feet up her ARSE (If that's possible)

Feeble flames: bitme-twilight needs to:
1. learn to spell
2.grow up
3. read real books
4. get a spell checker
like most fangirls... seriously, and by her email user-name I'm guessing she's 16?
If I'm 14, and I can spell properly, why can't she?

Anyway, I've wasted five minutes of my life typing this, but I could think of another million things that make such a series Hillarable.

i h8 it 2

yeah i hate it too. everybody everywhere has been talking about the books, then the movie and then MY friend start talking about which part they CRIED IN! i mean how pathetic is that. And when we went to the movies to see it (they told me we were going for icecream *sob*) my friend (who shall remain un-named) sounded like she was having an orgasm or something!

I think maybe you should read all the books and get your head out of your butt while you're at it. While I am a young woman, many of my male friends enjoyed the books as well. I don't think you understand the fact Bella didn't want Edward to save her, and in the end, Bella was actually the one that saved the day. So, before you start running your mouth you should get the whole story correct. Just because you don't understand the book , possibly because your small mind can't wrap around it, you really shouldn't say anything negative. How about next time you try to act like a big boy, why don't you learn some respect for women! You bigoted jerk!

My Personal Opinion!

I read the book, with fairly high expectations as all of my peers were all "OMG TWILIGHT"
And I have to say, it was a SERIOUS letdown.
I mean come on, if it's the best book you've ever read, you should probably read more.
As it was shit.

:D
That's just my personal opinion though
Like seriously, there are other foods other than granola bars!! (Did anyone else notice that??)

I hate it!!!

It's really good to see women who can't stand the series either. I'm a guy and, I thought, a great boyfriend, until my girlfriend saw the movie and read the book. Now I'm feeling sub-par. I've been pushed aside for a fictional vampire. It's all she wants to talk about and I'm getting really tired of it... Apparently she isn't aware that fiction doesn't have bounds and the characters can be vampires and do what ever the hell they want. I don't want it getting to where she thinks Edward freaking cullen is real, when she kisses me i want her kissing me, not pretending i'm so asshole vampire. How can there be 4 of these books out, with another coming at some point? It all seems very repetitive to me. It is a terrible example of literature, these girls obsessing over need to get their hands on Atlas Shrugged or something with substance.

I like twilight, i think it's a pretty entertaining book
there are better ones but i have to say it's enjoyable reading it in my spare time ;D
I don't think if you hated this book that much that you would want to chat about it on the internet in the first place?
Maybe Twilight haters should keep it to themselfes untill it has phased out.
Peace :)

man all you people are fucked straight up if you don't like the book then don't read it and if you like it keep going wild over edward lol. I myself am not a fan of these types of books, my friend has read it and all she talks about is twilight this and twilight that, but I don't mind because I'm sure everyone has something that they love so much that they always talk about it. And if you stopped talking to your friends over a book there's clearly something wrong with you and you're a horrible firend. NOW FUCKING STOP HATING!!!!!!!!
