man all you people are fucked straight up if you don't like the book then don't read it and if you like it keep going wild over edward lol. I myself am not a fan of these types of books, my friend has read it and all she talks about is twilight this and twilight that, but I don't mind because I'm sure everyone has something that they love so much that they always talk about it. And if you stopped talking to your friends over a book there's clearly something wrong with you and you're a horrible firend. NOW FUCKING STOP HATING!!!!!!!!!

I have to say, I am a 15-year-old girl and I only managed to get halfway through the book before it got sooo dull... pages and pages and pages of dialogue... pages of Bella just asking Edward question after question... personally, I like books where you find things out throughout instead of the main character just asking someone questions in one massive go. I found it sooo dull and also really strange... but you know, that's just my view of it. I can see the appeal in it.... kinda.

I have to agree, its not that Twilight is badly written but the build up too it was so intense. All i got befre i read it was shock that I HADN'T read it and that it was the best thing ever, the most fantastic book ever made, the workings of a genius and so on.
So when it got too it (I have been told I was biased As i was reading a doorstop Anne Rice Novel at the time but this is not true I try not to let anything affect my judgement and try and say what I really think) It was, a bad orgasm. I can't think of any way to describe it, the build up was excellent and then when it came to it it just WASN'T that fantastic.
Please, no whining, Dont be a stereotypical Twilight Or Jonas Brothers fan who think that they're thing is the best and your wrong if you dont agree if your over 14 get over it.
XxXx.

For all that is good and holy, if you somehow have the shallow brain capacity and like Twilight, go read Interview With A Vampire. Compare and contrast. See how Anne Rice sends Stephanie Myers into another dimension.

Vampires without FANGS=Bad Story.

just to let you know you are the one with the shallow brain capacity and maybe the books are different but i loved both series. They are very different and not even comparable. I think you people really need a reality check. These books are both fiction so stop fighting if you cant understand the concept of Twilight maybe you should leave it alone. I understand everyone has different taste but you really have no place to be rude. This bickering back in forth is just stupid i loved Twilight and who cares what you Twilight haters think. I honestly think that for ya'll to be acting like a bunch of literary scholars you don't know anything about literature.

Thank you,
Jen-Jen

I read Twilight and decleared it to be the worse book written. Her characters are weak and so is the plot line. I did not care to know what would happen next or what happened to the character. She does not IMHO have the skills of a outstanding writer. Just a bored woman that thought she could rip off other things she has read in books and call them her own.
My thoughts and my thoughts alone. No need to attack or anything like that.
Just thought it was not a well written book.

i can figure out how to quote so i copie and pasted

ok. i have some questions 2 ask you before i start fuming.

1.ARE YOU INSANE!?1?!?!?!?!?!
2.WHAT ON EARTH COULD POSSIBLY BE WRONG WITH THIS SERIES!?!!!??
3.What is your name, address and phone number, just so that i can track you down ank kill You with my super awesom vampire powers THAT I AQUIRED FROM READING THE SERIES!!!!!!!!!!
4.do you WANT a cult of angry twilight luvers like mysef at your doorstep at night trying to behead you????? you shouldnt voice an absurd oppinion like this on the internet.
5.(this isnt a question, more of a statment.) you must have not read much good litterature in youre life, because if you cannot appreciate the quality of this art.....YOU ARE MENTALLY UNSOUND!!!!!!!
6.thank you i think i am done fuming.(*takes a deep breath)
7.pls email me at [email protected] i would luv 2 argue with you firther.
byebye, you are insane
-biteme<3

this is why i personally refuse to read the twilight books. everyone who reads them suddently has anger mangment. as bad as the books probably are its not the books that are bad. its what happens to the people who read them, its desgusting. Now everyone is waiting for their edward to come along. i have two point EDWARD ISENT REAL along with he is perfect and that just doesnt happen outside of books. in the end a whole lot of girls will be depressed because thier edward doesnt exsist. that book is makeing already slutish teens worse, its repulsive

I must be crazy, because everybody loves these books and i think they are a complete waste of time. And everybody ignores the fact that edward is a PEDOPHILE! what do an old man and a 17 year old girl have in common? And its hard to get into a book when you dont respect the main character, bella is stupid. Good job to the author i what wish i could get that many people to read a story that sucks this bad.

I think you peple are really mean.

Because you see, I'm fourteen, and I hate it!
So. let's refer to 'them' as Twombies, or idiots.

Edward Cullen eats babies.

bella shows us girls that we cant do anything by ourseleves. she is a mary sue - written badly, cuz we can tell. when the main characters a mary sue, and you can pick it up like *that* you know the book is bad. and it should have been burnt before publishing

i dont agree with complete antipathy for something as insignificant as a book series. however, i do not agree with Twilight being called "literature" nonetheless a love story. all i see in this book is extreme lust without an actual basis for emotions, and the fact that these books are aimed toward the teenage demographic worries me. not only are young teens getting an unrealistic view on what relationships should be, but they are subjecting themselves to withdrawing from reality for a fake made up world. its just not really healthy, with everything else in the media telling young people what is appropriate we dont need books that claim to be about "true love" morphing eager minds into an unrecognizable haze.

wtf??
TWILIGHT ROCKS
there's no other thing to say so get a life and if you don't like anything just shut up

People who love twilight need something better to read, so I am recommending that you people read "Warriors" by Erin Hunter, which is not only better, not being a story filled with repeated "I"'s, and actually reclarifies whom is speaking instead of gong He this he that for 50 pages NONSTOP!

As well, warriors has 32 books as of now, enough to keep you people reading, with more to come.
not only is the plot better, the writing style is better too.
There are no Warriors Hating sites, which I can't say for Twilight, cuz Warriors fans don't get all super obsessed about it and go "oh I love this FICTITIOUS CHARCTER!" C'mon people, get real! Edward is an imaginary charcter! As far as I can tell without reading twilight (I've only looked at the last page of breaking dawn and A page in the middle of Twilight), Edward is a vampire who can do pretty much everything. that's just stupid, cuz then the whole plot is ruined. Plots need problems. People who can doe evrything fix problems right away!. see the connection!?!

oh wow. this is long.

Anyways, you people can't criticize Warriors or my point of view, 'til you've read Warriors.

SO GET A LIFE!

» All my friends have added Cullen onto their last names.
» When I tell people to shut up they tell me to "bite them"
» Did we get enough teenage boy angst from Harry Potter?
» It's giving teenagers (girls in particular) a misconception of relationships in the real world.

For all of the above and more, I detest Twilight.

I don't know who else has heard of it but I swear everywhere single place I go, I keep hearing about this book called "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyers and it is driving me insane!!! I have actually read it and it was terrible. It's directed towards 15 year old girls whose only concern is meeting the perfect guy who will rescue her and basically take care of her and blah, blah, blah ( I’m 14 read the Twilight didn’t bother with the rest of the series), a Prince Charming if you will. It's complete rubbish! The guy is a vampire (yes you heard me) and literally saves the girl like 5 times throughout the book. That is basically the point out of it. I seriously laughed out loud while reading it because it was so predictable and pointless. (Yes I read it. I do not believe in criticizing or praising a book without reading it first) It's 450 pages of a girl somehow getting in trouble and then what's his face comes in the nick of time. And this was an assignment for Honors English, so yes in some sort of way; I was forced to read it.
I have been to countless boards, stores, internet sites where I hear these young women praise this book as "The best book they have ever read." Isn't that tragic? That's the problem with today's society. Young women should be reading classics, empowering stories or at least something they can get something out of. All this book does is reinforce the notion that women need to be rescued and that there really is a Prince Charming waiting to be found and that once a girl finds him everything will be happily ever after from then on or if not that she’ll have a godlike amazingly handsome, immortal vampire dude that is willing to kill the world for you. I was at school the other day and actually saw two of my classmates including my TEACHER crying, yes crying about how Edward saved Bella at the end of the book and how much he really loves her and how cute it is, I of course in a daze, nearly fell off of my chair at how pathetic they sounded HE’S A FREAKIN BLOODY FICTIONOUS CHARACTER, PEOPLE GET A LIFE. I believe in love and I hope every girl who wants to find some amazing guy does but this book is complete nonsense and to hear a 46 year old English teacher dish about how much they love a "Vampire" just really depresses me.
Love isn't magic. There is no such thing as a fairytale and as much as I love the Little Mermaid to believe that's how it turns out with every girl would be a discredit to my intelligence! I would love to see people praise a classic like The Count of Monte Cristo or Pride and Prejudice, The Kite Runner, and A Thousand Splendid Suns. To enjoy a book of fiction or get lost in it is fine but to have faith in it to believe it's what you want for yourself (like marrying a freaking vampire!!! yes, I heard my teacher say she wants to marry this guy!!!) is just mind boggling. Perhaps I am just venting but why oh why is this book getting so much praise?!?!?!

Funny thing is that i've heard heaps of people say that they want to marry Edward Cullen, which is hilarious. But the thing that really ticks me of is that "Edward Cullen" makes it harder for us guys having to follow his 'example' as my sister and countless girl mates have put it.

My friends all adore twilight, whereas my cousin believes it's one of the worst books ever.
I have to agree with my cousin.
When I first flicked through it, I came to a page that clearly read, "Edward reached out his hand, as though to touch me, but then he didn't."
Not the best piece of writing I've ever seen.
It's a fairly unoriginal, conventional storyline. I mean, look at Harry Potter. Though I don't really like those books, I'll admit it's a well written original storyline. Lord of the Rings-original and truly a masterpiece. Lemony Snicket books-very different to most things you'd find most days, as someone put it earlier, fairy tales like twilight.

If you like the books, that's fine, we're all entitled to our own opinion, but I wish people wouldn't make such a fuss over them

twilight

sorry, but you are all mistaken.

Twilight is the best!!!

End of. No more.

and even if you do hate twilight, you must have a sad life talking about how much you hate it all of the time. Do you not have anything else to talk about?
As i said, sad life.

?????

I completely agree. I'm a 14 year old and as much as I'm attracted to Edward i remember it's just fiction and completely unrealistic.
The only reason why Stephany Meyer created them to be vampires is to let them be, without question, elite at everything they do and it's sad that people everywhere are sooo caught up in it.
They really do need to widen their reading variety.

However, the fact that so many people that usually cringe at books and now are reading non stop is very impressive and i admire the fact that many of them will possibly go on to read others.

Pfft.
Why is everyone getting so worked up?
My best friend loves the series,
I don't complain.
When she drones on and goes all fangirl on me,
I don't care.
I hate the series because it's so...typical?
Yeah, I guess you could call it that.
I have read it,
but I have nothing against Stephanie Meyers.
And I have nothing personal against Twilight fans.
So guys,
seriously,
why let it get to you?
