I seem to have become stupidly clumsy/accident prone of late. Couple of months ago I dropped a drawer on my toe, getting a nasty gash and bad bruising. Tonight I was tidying and managed to split my knuckle open with some glass, missing the tendon by about 1ml which would have been nasty! It's a mess.

Just wondering if there are any others out there who seem to damage themselves more out of training than in it?

I'm not usually accident prone, and am not really the clumsy type, but of late I've had more accidents than usual. Especially paper cuts. I seem to be getting a freakishly huge number of them lately, even though I'm handling the same amount of paper I normally do. I've also been bumping my body parts (particularly my toes) into things increasingly lately, which has not been a fun experience.

I've had a lot of coursework lately and haven't gotten much sleep as a result, so I'm figuring that's probably the cause of it. Maybe after mid-terms I'll be better off.

i distended my left shoulder's synovial capsule reaching down to my foot. go figure.

also, i have a scar on my left ring finger i got while opening a milk carton.

I generally am not accident prone or clumsy, but when I do sustain any sort of injury it is outside of normal training.

yesterday after returning from an hour and a half bike ride, i managed to fall off my bike... while moving from the sidewalk to my front yard. landed on my bad shoulder, too.

OUch!!!!

Not long after getting my new spd pedals for my mountain bike I was in the car park near the forest getting ready. Clipped both feet into my new pedals while not really moving- couldn't get one out and fell right over-still clipped into pedals and landed still in my pedals. There was blood everywhere so had to go home! Right in front of a car full of amused people too!!!!

Post training injuries are pretty easy to sustain as you get tired. Knew I should have gone to the gym last night, would have been safer

Lou, there's a chance this could be due to a feeling of disorientation after your recent ear infection problems. Ears and balance are tied closely together. Hopefully it'll pass!

You know, I hadn't actually thought of that! Wonder if the increased training and fatigue has added to it?

I don't recommend spending a Friday night in casualty having to listen to "Cuddle on the Couch" the "best of" love songs from the last 3 decades to anyone

1ml? That's erm, pretty close Looby.

Yesterday I was coming round a roundabout when some fool decided to pull out in front of me. I missed him by barely half a gallon!

Very close indeed. If you looked inside you could see the tendon and everything, the doctor reckoned it was about 1mm

Not that clumsy. Although when I am it's usually something slipped or I tripped...

Once stuck a chisel into my thumb in college.

A few months ago I was trying to cut/scoop ice cream which I had just taken out of the freezer only for the spoon to slip and with quite a lot of force hit the palm of my hand. Yep... spoon! Had it been a knife (which I have also used for the same job) the entire blade would have gone through the palm of my hand!

Most recently... my trainers are stating to loose their grip; there's an slight incline outside the local Sainsbury's; it's starting to rain more/finding wet leaves on the floor. I'm gonna fall flat on my back at some point! It's gonna happen

Ice cream is actually dangerous, especially getting the stuff out when it's really hard!

And as for wet leaves - yes they are lethal! I fell on my bottom a few weeks ago coming down the hill to my house which was covered in wet leaves!

If you slip on those wet leaves just lie there and scream and moan. Tell them you can't feel your legs.
