Yes, it goes by many names. Any karate style to come from Okinawa is a ryukyu kempo / kenpo style. Here are just a few of the ryukyu kempo styles.
Shotokan
Shorin Ryu
Goju Ryu
Shuri Te

As Pugpaws stated - Ryukyu Kempo and Ryute are both systems developed and taught by Grand Master Oyata.

He is the TRUTH in Okinawan Martial Arts and the Only True Okinawan Karate Master in the US. He over-shadows them all.

Ryukyu Kempo can describe more than one style. In the last few decades it has been used to describe the art that Okinawan master Seiyu Oyata teaches. In more recent years he has started calling it by a different name. I assume you are referring to him. Oyata is one of the most knowledgeable and skilled martial artists in the U.S.A. He teaches what most karate should be.
