When I talk to others using my bluetooth ear bud, the other party says that my voice sounds muffled... like I wrapped a towel around the microphone. I got my iPhone 4 on 6-23 and paired my jawbone with it that night (don't recall the model name but it is 2 years old). My buddy told me that he could hardly understand/hear me because my voice sounded muffled. I chalked this up to the jawbone possibly on it's last leg since it is 2 years old. So I went to the AT&T store and got the new Jawbone Icon... same issues I did some searching on google and found a few threads where others were reporting the same issue with their bluetooth ear bud device but it wasn't just Jawbone, it was other manufacturers as well. Some of the posts were on 3G & 3GS models that are running iOS4 and one person mentioned that they exchanged their iPhone 4 with Apple and the new unit had the same issue.
I removed the Jawbone from the iPhone 4 bluetooth list, rebooted the iPhone (not just a power off but a reboot), reset the Jawbone and re-paired it with the iPhone 4 again but I still have the issue. I did submit a 'bug' report to Apple but go no confirmation of submitting it so who knows. I'm posting this here as this is one of the larger forums with more members so I figured it would give me a better idea if it is a wide spread issue or not and possibly someone has found a solution.
I'm really starting to wonder about this phone; my 3G was awesome, not a single issue but it seems like new bugs are popping up about every 4 days with this one. I don't have the reception issue (although if I try real hard I can make it lose a few bars), the proximity bug has happened about 3-4 times now (holding it up to my check while on a call and buttons some how getting pressed) and now this. The only reason it's a bigger deal to me is because I'm in Washington state and they passed a law last month that makes talking on our cell phone with it up to your ear while driving a primary offense meaning if they see you doing it they can pull you over for it and issue you a $124 ticket. If your response is simply going to be "just return it" please don't bother posting as that is not what I'm looking for. I really like the new iPhone design, the interface is awesome... it's just so user friendly and a great experience... I just want it to work right. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.
