The song is called Lupin, by Kara. Here is a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJQadNLD2… (yes it's a Korean pop song, don't judge me)
I'm interested in the song structure. My theory knowledge is pretty basic, but I can see that the song is mainly in D major, and it goes to F major (the relative major?) in the chorus. But the second phrase of the chorus ends on a E flat, which shouldn't be in the scale. This is where my theory knowledge runs out. Is that a modulation of some sort, or just a random chromatic note introduced? What is that called (if there is a musical term that describes this kind of thing)?
And also, for dance/pop songs like this, is there a definite chord progression? I can't seem to deduce it. All I hear is the bass line that seems to stay on the tonic(?).
Thanks for helping!
