I've had this phone since Nov., 2007 and I've had no problems. Just yesterday, the battery went dead so I put it on the charger and nothing happened. No lights or anything. I thought it was the charger so I tried my car charger and the same thing happened. It vibrates like it's going to turn on when it's on the chargers but then vibrates again as if it's turning right back off. I took it to Radio Shack and the girl cleaned it and did some things but nothing. I was just wondering if their were others with problems before I took it into an AT + T store. I didn't think the battery should be bad already!! Thanks for your imput!

Batteries are funny, but that's almost certainly what it is. I've had my 580 for two years and haven't had any problems, you just got a bit of bad luck with it.
If you're still under warranty, fantastic. If you're not, I'd suggest getting a new battery off ebay, it'll save you around $50. Just type the model number that's printed on the battery into the ebay search.
