Anyone played Wappy Dog for DS?

A few weeks ago I bought my daughter a DSi, not the 3D one, for a Christmas gift. We saw these commercials for a game/robot dog and I haven't been able to go to the store to check it out yet. I was just wondering if anyone knew if it will work in the DSi model? I tried a few sites but I'm still not sure. Also, on a different note, I know the rating is for everyone but anyone with a little kid played it before? My daughter is 5 and has played a bit before but has had trouble with the d pad.
