True or False:

Greg Maddux did NOT pitched a complete game in his first career Major League start. Whether or NOT the question is true or NOT true, what team did he pitched his first complete game against?

Yes, it's true but it was NOT against Philly.
 
According to bleacherreport.com, Maddux made his first pitching appearance in the 18th inning of an extra inning game in September 1986. His first start was five days later against the Phillies with a complete game win. His brother Mike was the starter for the Phillies.

However, baseball-reference.com shows a complete game win against the Reds in his first major league start.

Obviously, they can't both be right. In such a situation, I trust baseball-reference more. So my final answer is that it was a complete game win against the Reds.
