...of flames!? On April 18, we had a fire in our apartment. My dogs, my best friends, were trapped behind a door. My neighbor screamed for help. Firemen were there and I "assaulted" three of them and went in and saved my dogs. I simply unlocked the door, and let them out. My neighbor died from jumping from a 4 story building. I do not feel guilty. I will not apologize. But, the newpaper has villianized me. What would you have done.

listen do you really expect me or anyone else to believe anyone even an olympic heavy weight boxer could assault 1 let alone 3 firemen at the scene of a blaze???? the suits are designed to protect from more than heat, also falling debris etc. it would take one hell of a blow to even be felt through the suit, and 3 firemen? they work side by side day in day out watching each others backs in life and death situations, a little more dangerous than some kid throwing punches, you never would have gotten within arms length. which newspaper? i'd love to read the story and forward it to the boys at the station!!

I'm confused...if your dogs were on the first floor and you just let them out and your neighbor was on the 4th floor how in the hell could you get up there to her? I would not feel guilty but anyone with a conscious would feel bad about the situation. There was no way to save your neighbor being up so high but your dogs were right there.....

Yes well maybe if you hadn't been in the way they could have been doing their job instead of dealing with you and maybe your neighbor would still be alive. Come and talk to me when you have crawled in a room at 700 degrees and pitch black till you see the orange glow.

I would of done the exactly the same thing as u. If the newspaper villianized me for doing that i would tell them to shove it.

I would have let the dogs die, they are dogs.

You interferred with the firemen and the time it took them to deal with you they could have save a human being.

And for all you know the firemen would have gotten the dogs out too.

I would have felt guilty. If the fire started BC of negligence than you should feel guilty. If not then they had no right to defame you. Accidental fires happen. As for going back for your dogs, i would have done the same thing!

Probably the same thing with out assaulting the firemen. The firemen where trying to protect your life by holding you back, it's their job to save you from harms way.
