Apartment Rental for Buenos Aires Vacation?

IDK but do you need a travel companion? lol I've always wanted to see Buenos Aires. hehehe
 
I've decided to forgo spending money on a hotel since I think I can get a better deal (minus the hotel services) by renting an apartment. I am trying to decide where to stay however. Can anyone give me advice? I am torn between Recoleta and Palermo neighborhoods.
