Are all sport bikes racing bikes?

I was looking to buy my first bike (ninja 2009 250) then found out that my insurance doesn't cover racing bikes unless I have three years of motorcycle experience. What I want to know is if all sport bikes are racing bikes, more importantly, is the ninja 250 a racing bike since it's only a 250.

No.

A road bike like the one you have mentioned is not a racing bike.

Its a road bike.

Racing bike are racing bike. No lights, registration plates, indicators blah blah blah.

Get a different insurance company.

As for been " only " a 250cc ............. so what does that make this :

( it a 125cc RACING bike by the way)

I guess all 'sports bikes' have the potential to be a 'racing bike', from the uneducated point of view of an insurance company. There are racing classes for 250's including '250cc production class' which is where a 250 Ninja would fit in nicely with only the removal of the glass and fitting of race numbers.

While the Ninja as a road bike is not a racing bike you won't get an insurance company to change their preconceived minds.
